Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Love my T5 Multivan

    Hi Mel here,
I bought my second hand Multivan about a year ago and love it to bits. I have dreamed about owning a VW van for decades! Love the safe drive, the comfort, the space and the freedom to convert it. I have taken the middle seats out so I can go on little kayaking trips, put the bench seat down and now lie comfortably across it diagonally with a 'Duvalay' brand swag which is like a sleeping bag but the mattress, sheet and doona are all zipped in and you can just slide out from the side so I don't have to struggle any more. I'm getting a little portable kitchen in the back from Van-essa fitted soon.
I do have an issue with my car alarming when I lock myself in at night. Read instructions but obviously I'm missing something, any clues would be appreciated.
    Cheers

The Multivans are bloody awesome, we love ours. Van-essa make some awesome kit if you're looking to go further down that path.

As for the alarm, on the pillar behind the drivers door you will find a button, if you open the drivers door, press that (which from memory lights up) then close the door and lock your alarm shouldn't go off. That button disables the internal movement sensors.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
