Albury Auto Gearbox repairs for T4.

I remember reading that there was an Auto Gearbox specialist in Albury that was repairing 1 box per week when the Ambos were blowing them up.
Does anyone remember who this was?
My son is looking at a T4, most probably a V6 and they are all autos.
Fully aware of the weaknesses, but the Yanks seem to have got over it with regular oil changes and an air/oil cooler rather than the one that mixes the coolant in with the trans oil after allowing it to get hot enough to oxidise in the meantime.

General Motors and Chrysler have been building reliable auto gearboxes for 60+ years. It's pretty woeful that a company with VAG's technical resources can't do the same, but there you are.
I still feel that the T4 is a better mousetrap than anything else on the secondhand market, unless anyone else has a better idea.

Your right about the Chrysler auto box , damn things were almost indestructable I should know I thrashed the hell out of mine for 6 years and it still refused to give up . Coupled to a 318 V8 massive burnouts couldn,t stop it , best one was I had to replace the welch plugs at the back of the engine and removed the box , as an 18 years old I did not line up the drive dog when refitting the box result it tore off the part but still kept running all you had to do was to keep a few revs on when stopped so the pressure in the torque converter was maintained .Yes the T4,s auto was an expensive one to replace , our local dealer had one on a trolley when I was there one day and the mechanic told me it was a $12 grand replacement part , from memory its an adaptive auto so it self adjusts to suit the different drivers habits . I know after my wife drove ours for a few days I would get in and have to give it few hard acceleration runs to get the bugger to change the way I liked . Sorry I cant help with the place good luck with it .

No idea about the Albury dude. But given the choice between a V6 auto T4 and a Toyota Tarago...I'd pick the Tarago [emoji55]

Are you sure the Aisin was fitted to the T4s? I thought they only came in the T5s.
Regardless, the auto in the T4 has earned a poor reputation.

The T4 had the VW built & designed transmission, the T5 had the aisin warner Japanese unit
