  • 35a7 G'box oil recall

Hey guys, the 35a7 gearbox oil change applies to the 5 speed in the Caddy too. My 2nd gear had been crunching to I called Iverach VW in Dubbo last week and took it to them this arvo.

They replaced the synthetic G'box oil with mineral oil under the 35a7 recall. Turned the notchy box with the crunching 1st to 2nd into a box with smoothness like my mk4 2.0L sport had. Fixed the box right up good and proper like. VERY happy.

Ring your dealer even if you aren't having troubles and tell them you want it changed anyway if they haven't already. Quote the 35a7 code to them. If they tell you it doesn't effect your car then hey, it was only a phone call.

My Caddy was built in September 06 (2007 spec) and delivered in Jan 07.

Mine was also a Sep06 built car. I went to the dealer to fix the rear sliding door, they replaced the gearbox oil for me. I didn't have any crunching but I think this recall applies for most Caddys running around out there! Thanks for the info Preen59

Phoned VW and the service manager said there is no recall like this for the Polos. He even checked the VW Germany system to confirm. This recall is for Caddys and some other model.

He reckons the other VW service centres have taken it on to themselves to do it for Polo's.
