Update on the suspension. Had to go to Forbes this arvo to deliver some Kart engines back that i had blueprinted. So i had about 150kgs in the back.
Anyway this was the first trip i have done out of town since i've put the new suspension in.
The van was much much more stable over bumps and rode very well sitting on around 110. It was raining all the way there and the van had much more grip.
On the way back it was absolutely teaming down to the point that it was becoming hard to see the road, so i backed it off to 100kmh.
When one wheel hit a deep patch of water it was very stable. It would still pull a bit, but nothing drastic and very controllable. Much better than before. It also has lost it's high speed mid corner U/S, that it had standard.
In town, it has far more grip on take off and when you are turning on throttle. Before, when you turned the steering wheel on throttle, it was very easy to light the inside tyre. Now it has plenty of grip and you have to use a fair amount of throttle % to break traction.
Much more grip around wet roundabouts too. Before it would start to U/S and then the front would chatter as the tyre would bite and then let go if you pushed it a little hard. Now, it has plenty of grip and you can accelerate around a roundabout in the rain with no power U/S.
**U/S= Understeer.
So once again, i'm very happy with the suspension.
