thanks for the welcome. i cant believe i only just found out about this forum considering i have 3 VW's

Interesting that you say that about the re set as my other caddy has the exact same set up on th rear but with H & R coils on the front and the caddy rides really nice. you may have spent more but if it is a better set up...

you wil need to get used to the looks. my car turns heads like it is from another planet. i have had peaople stop me in traffic to take photos!

Yeah i decided it was a fully reversible kit so it was the best option. I'm very happy with it.

People stopping you to take photos? Wow, now that's cool. I've only ever gotten that once, and that was in the Mk1.

Haha, yeah, you get used to the car you drive, and while you appreciate it, it's still a shock when people want to take pictures of it.

I'm in sydney fairly regularly for one reason or another, so i'll keep that in mind. I'm always keen to meet and chat to fellow enthusiasts.

              • Trying to solve a 'squeak' in the rear at the moment. Narrowed it to the shocks, then narrowed it to the fact that we didn't prime them before we fitted them.. (Idiot!!)

Anyway, while i was fiddling with them, i realised that the rears have adjustable rebound! I primed them and then adjusted the rebound resistance up a bit and re-fitted them. Made a lot of difference. The back was still a little soft before so now it's evened it up a bit and reduced the corner entry pitch even more. The van is dead stable now. Very happy.

The squeak is still there slightly, so i'm going to pull them out again (Heh, i'm getting pretty fast at it now..) and prime them again. Hopefully that will completely fix it.

I spoke to Dragan today about it (before i'd pulled them out and realised it was air in the circuits..) and he was extremely helpful. He said if one or both of them was faulty, he would replace them. No questions asked. That really impressed me. I'll be buying suspension for the Mk1 from him without a doubt.

                • Just got a piggyback chip for the Caddy off Guy. (WAAP! )

Couldn't let that go by. Too cheap to knock back.

Hey mods, could one of you shift this thread into the VWCV Watercooled Hub? And change the name to "My Caddy Van" or something. I'll use this thread to post anything i do to the Caddy from now on.

It's already got some pretty meaty poke (for a van), so i can't wait to plug it in. Might do a track day in it now..

Now that would be fun to watch. A Caddy 3 wheeling it around the bends. Hehehe

imagine overtaking ricers on the outside... in a mkV caddy...

                          from that list of 4 - (coilovers, chip, wheels, colour-code) you're 2 from 4.

or leave as is.. sleeper van.

I vote you get a meals on wheels magnet to stick on the side for when you take it to the track. Now that would be priceless!!!
