bugger that! I'd do the Audi V12TDi, mid engined as you said

back on topic, does the KW Coilovers convert the rear end back to strut type suspension instead of leaf sprung?

NO! have you ever heard a DFV? I'd take the sound of a high revving DFV over neck snapping torque any day!

No, no, no, no... You put coil overs in the front and get the rear springs reset. basically you heat them up, bend them, and quench them to give a lower installed height.

Hmm.. That means a dramatically reduced payload though, i'd say. I'll rad up on it..

Nah you're wrong. Coilovers on the front. And brackets for the back to swap the axle onto the top of the spring and then there is another adjustment bracket that allows you to move the spring up and down in 4 stages. KW supply another shock absorber with the kit for the rear, not coilover.

ohh cool, however how much of a reduced payload is it? not that i carry that much heavy stuff around really.

Shouldn't reduce the payload at all.

What i meant was that if you convert it to coilovers in the back instead of leaf springs your maximum payload will drop.

Seems like a pretty straight forward setup. knock it over in an afternoon.. hopefully.

Hmm well i think i might have to save the pennies, put the mk1 on hold for a little bit and get that KW suspension for the Cad-dogg.

It says you can't go any lower than what they state with standard fenders, which simply means you can go lower than what they say, but they're coving their arse incase someone scuffs and buggers a fender and blames them!

Awesome. KW dumpage it is me thinks.

Yeah but i've been working my ring off lately with work plus my business and starting to make some scratch so hopefully in a month or 2 i can get them.

I did just go and order a 2000 dollar media blast unit though, but with any luck it'll pay itself off in no time.

So start sending me parts to blast, so i can blast them and charge you an arm and a leg.. It's for a good cause..

How does the mkv caddy compare to the mk4? Reading thru an old pvw magazine a fella in the uk flipped the rear axle around 180° and fitted beetle shocks for a 100mm drop. Then upfront he used mk2 golf struts. That gives u food for thought

that sounds very interesting, but is the mk4 caddy the bloody ugly one with the Polo front on it?

Back to the original question - Milan from TCCA Motorsport in Artarmon does the H&R coilovers.

                                Google TCCA Motorsport...
