  • How to lower a Caddy?

I believe the Caddy has a strut front and leaf rear end is this correct? So i'm guessing lowering springs on the front and reset leaf on the rear? Be interested to hear from people who have done it and where they got their springs from etc.

    Cheers

Just buy a kit. There's a few available. Mine is KW. Absolutely fantastic.

Full details (including installation) can be found here: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f26/...van-16507.html

Does anyone know if its possible to use bags on a caddy?? I imagine that you would have to convert the rear from springs though.

Mason-tech are the other mob that are highly regarded as far as air-ride applictions are concerned aren't they?

I know some of the crew in the Uk have taken the rear axle out and turned it upside down, with a bit of mild fab it lowers it. I have the write up somewhere, ill have a look.

Mine has H&R coilovers in the front and Fulcrum reset the rear leafs. I fitted Koni Mk2 Caddy gas shocks as well and the handling would rival my GTI which has the Koni coilover kit and Whiteline bars fitted. The ride is perfect.
I am about to do a customers all black Caddy and I reckon I will do the axle flip in the rear with the KW kit.

Thanks heaps fellas, I love the thing and because of its great fuel economy the GTI rarely leaves its garage. Its a weekend car until I decide to move it on.
This is the van on the Golfs BBS's.

Still cant get over winning the best watercooled VW from 2000 on at last years DoVW in Vic, though I think a lot of it is in being such a nice bright orange.
