  • VW Polo GTi 6N2 Problem

    Hi all,

I have a Polo GTi AVY Engine and I am having two problems.

The first is that when the engine is hot, it starts with the second try unless I press the gas pedal half way down. When its cold it starts fine. When its cold, its sluggish and starts to pull a bit. It will last for a minute, then I will run fine...

The second is that when the engine is warm, it starts to knock when it is at low revs. It knocks even more than I punch the accelerator.

The are no fault codes. Changed the CTS and a good number of parts.

Does anyone have an idea whats the problem?

    Thanks.

I think you will at least need to check the fuel pressure there mate, could be related to your hot start and also your knock, sounds like its leaning off there. I assume with your parts list you have done the basics like plugs and fuel filter?? i know it may sound like a silly question but the basics often get overlooked. Coolant temp sensor is the lassic reason for a bad hot start but i see you have done that.
    Good luck

Hi Jmac. Thanks for your reply. Yes, I changed the plugs and the fuel filter. The CTS which is green has been changed too. Will check out the fuel pressure.

        Hi again,

I took off the Injectors to see their condition. I think they need to be replaced right?

What do you think of these Injectors?

        Thanks.

It's less than 3 Bars. My mechanic told me to have a go by replacing the 4 injectors as these do not look really nice.
