Forge have just released a new FMIC for the Polo GTI:

404page - Forge Motorsport - Designer and Manufacturer of Intercooolers, Actuators, Valves, Pipes, Silicon, Wastegates, and Brakes - Engineered for Performance in the United Kingdom

DIY install, everything seems to be included. Forge state that it has a 30 degree drop in temp over the standard intercooler.

There's guys who have them fitted in the UK, reports are they're fantastic. If you can install the honeycomb grills yourself, then you can install the Forge FMIC - as labour = $$$

I m interested too, but some report said that it will make the car more lag...

Probably need upgraded software as well..

But did apr or revo have tune for FMIC mods?

          Or it doesnt matter?

I don't think a software upgrade is needed, since its just colder airflow.

Also, pipework isn't too lengthy. Forge also state no additional lag experienced.

It won't create lag, software would make the same power for longer if you had it but it isn't a problem if you don't.

Personally, I would fit all the externals if you are going to buy them anyway and then get software.

Geez, no wonder why the freight is expensive - that's one elaborate kit!

yes the kit even comes with a twenty something page booklet on how to DIY the kit. And everything in the pic is included. The bar has to be cut for it to fit so they supply one already cut with reinforcing welded in.

Looks like a decent kit, specially with the rebar for $1590 i think thats pretty decent... still trying for the large order?

well yeah large order always lowers shipping costs. So the larger the better.

                            hey guys.

just curious how this would stand up along side say the APR intercooler? Obviously there is the price difference, but what about performance?

to be honest it hasn't been tested here in Australia. I will be getting one soon. The testing in england is very positive. The APR Is a very good proven unit. I guess almost anything is better then the standard one.
