Thanks for the welcome, unfortunately no pics, will post once my baby gets back from VW garage. Cam sensor was advancing timing to far, caused limp home mode. Solution - new part from Germany. No car for 2 weeks, .....!

Got a courtesy car, 1.4l Citi Golf ( old Golf mk1 ). Only got the front lower spoiler, cost 1200 ZAR + 600 ZAR for all colour coding, labour is cheap in SA.

There used to be a theory that if you went through a fixed speed camera at really high speed (220km/h+) all it got was an empty spot.

Apparently it was aimed specifically and the calibration only allowed speeds of 120km/h to 200km/h to be accurately captured on film.

I can attest that my wife's Isuzu KB320 (Holden Rodeo V6) was good for 178km/h and close to the edge of the picture I received in the mail.

My modded VR6 was good for 240km/h and at 2 spots on the highway where I knew cameras where never got caught despite seeing flashes as I passsed at about 220km/h in the early morning hours.

It has to be said that this was many years ago in the days when the camera technology was new and people where less responsible....

even though they are not on a Polo GTI in this pic they are on a Polo so heres what they look like

i used to have the 18" versions of these on my car - but the tyre profile caused me a few problems when encountering potholes - these replica's are cheap here so they are popular

i see the number of south Africans is increasing on this site
