hey guys and few girls,
i have returned from my 3 week South African adventure and am currently sitting in the Qantas Club at the Sydney airport waiting for my 7:00pm Coolangatta transfer to come.....so what better thing to do but jump onto ol' faithful VWWa.
i was absolutely stunned at the enormous amount of VW's driving around the streets of both Africa and South Africa
. the car of choice clearly appeared to be the VW Citi Golf (available in the TenaCITI, CITI chico, VeloCITI and various others - pictured below). as you can see they are based on the golf mk1/mk2 (mk2 front, mk1 rear) but are actually a brand new car and are still being built and sold. i peered through the window at a few and all the interior was brand new.

i only saw a few Polo GTI's but a hell of a lot of Polo's, including several 2.0L petrol versions and the Polo Classic sedan which we dont sell here (would look awesome as a GTI model with a good set of springs and some nice wheels)
.
as for the golf GTI's, i saw a hell of a lot and did not see 1 with the standard factory rims, they had all been upgraded to larger GTI replica's (the machined alloy ones).
as my 3 weeks was full of activity i did not get a chance to visit the VW factory which was only 15mins down the road from a hotel we stayed at for two nights.
anyways, i must admit its good to be back however everything seems significantly more expensive
speak to you all soon,
Rhys
