Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 3inch MAF Upgrade

    Hi guys,

Looking into upgrading to a S3 3inch MAF housing but unsure how to go about it.
Ive done some looking but cant find any info. Wanting to know if there is an aftermarket TIP or do i have to custom make one?
Is there adapters needed for the turbo?
Any info or a point in the right direction would b awesome.

    Thanks in advance.

    3inch MAF Upgrade

What are you trying to achieve with the larger maf? You can't just change the maf and away you go, it requires being written into the tune.

As for the TIP, I'm just about finished up a few custom 3" TIP for a few 9n3 polo guys. One of them being Dan (pazuzzu) from here. It's the same as what, Sean Gav and I run which require an elbow to connect onto the turbo.

Generally speaking, people only go for these when going for a custom intake system like we all run and when doing the 3" maf and turbo swap to utilise it properly, but I'm happy to make them up for others wanting it for stage 2 as well.
