Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

No worries mate! I'll get back to the strip again in the future, preferably in winter, to get a better time. Try and claim the top place of the leader board

60ft time will make a huge difference. My 60ft times were terrible when I went, like 2.5-7, which is pretty horrendous really. Should be more like 2.0-2.1 ideally

yeh i was getting 2.4 so a 2.2 or better would be great. If only you got traction haha little thing must fly.

That is a great time considering the mods. Well done.

Yeah traction is certainly what holds back the times. But I'll give it a shot another day and see what sort of time I can get

Louis and I had a run at QR y'day. Was a good day out.

                            QR sprint circuit
                            Seangti - 60.62 (tyre: Kumho V70)
                            Louis - 62.94 (tyre: Federal 595 RS)

some vid of my lap, first time using video with Harry's laptimer. Will need to review camera placement as it hunting for focus -

The video used the iphone gps, which was 0.4sec faster on this lap, and 0.1sec on the next lap. Which is surprising as at Lakeside a few weeks ago, the iphone derived time was within 0.1sec of official timing all day.

Different car mate. Those 2013 times were in my silver stage 1 polo, 2016 is the red polo. It had been 3yrs since timed laps at QR.

Now to get similar gap between the cars at lakeside. Aiming for mid 61s lap at lakeside, it's in the car, just need to find it in me. Nice problem to have. Though planning to go back a street tyre for next year.
