  • chasing stock ECU and selling APR flashed one

    Hi Polo people,

Anyone running a stock polo 9N ECU interested in buying an APR V2 flashed ECU? It was about $1000 dollars for the initial software and it makes the car 100% better. A few months back I paid an extra $250 for a software update to take into account a bigger down-pipe and high-flow cat.

I'm chasing a stock ECU and $450 to go towards new software or a FMIC

I've been totally happy with the tune and would recommend it to anyone. Anyone still stock looking to do a downpipe and a tune could grab a total bargain!

I'm only changing because I think there is other software which can be a bit more flexible in the mods it supports and offer a bit more aftermarket support.

** moderators - if this is in the wrong section, sorry, feel free to move it**

Yeah mate that's probably a fair call.. Like I said I have absolutely no problem with the APR software. I've just been told I might get a bit more out of it in the future going with something like custom code. I have no plans to go stage 3 any time soon, but its nice to have the option.

It may also all be beside the point anyway because there may just be no takers out there.. I can't imagine there are a ton of polo GTIs floating around that haven't been chipped already. At least I hope there isn't!!!

apr is a strong tune for stage 1 look at the dyno day apr car was only 4.7kw shy of the custom code stage 2 polos and apr was running 5psi less boost and had less mods add alittle timming to the apr tune and stick on a mbc inlie with the n75 valve who knows where the power would be at wouldnt be worth the money going diffferent solfware unless stage 3 when the time comes upa get a beach buggy K280 turbo and upgrade to the apr K04 tune heheheh

APR K04 tune runs std injectors and MAF. No way it could make proper power with that hardware. It can't meter the airflow/

Still going to top out the MAF I reckon. You just wouldn't do an off the shelf tune for that, it would be silly.

Is it possible to swap out ECU's in these cars? Having both a stock & APR tuned car its always been at the back of my mind.

Id imagine there's a bit of tinkering involved with a VAG com to get the things to start with new key codes..

You could read the Immo data and flash it into opposite ECUs. I find it easier to swap the immo chips over, as a permanent solution.

No takers then? I'm still keen if anyone is after a good tune at bargain prices.

I'm in Brisbane, but im sure we could arrange things via mail / courier for anyone out of state.

Shoot me a pm if interested

It's all doable in a couple of days.

I will have a stock ecu looking for a tune soon. Don't think I will go past stage 1 however.

Still available if your willing to swap and send some dosh my way. The stage thing seems slightly different with APR, the only thing they offer the 9N polo as a "stage 2" enhancement is their uprated diverter valve. Then stage 3 is a bolt on K04. I'm pretty sure when my car was re-flashed for the downpipe it would have been just to allow the software to see a wider range of gas flows through the exhaust without throwing a CEL. I think the improved performance would have been more down to the physical hardware in place than adjustment of the ECU. Technically I think I'm still be classed as stage 1 according to APR. You could probably use that ECU without the downpipe. But having said all that, I could be completely wrong.

It does make a huge difference to stock though, so I highly recommend the tune however you go about it
