Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

You've all proven that black is better (cos thats the only colour the gloss pillar comes in!)

Dave, looks like you do the same thing as i do and close the door by the Bpillar. A habit I'll have to get out of to avoid grubby fingerprints on the gloss.

I managed to source a substitute phillips head screw, but the lost one is still in the depths of my door. Im baffed as to how to get this out. There is a drain hole in the bootom of the door, i'll see if it falls out when i wash it.

I seriously recommend NOT losing the screws, or letting the screw fall in the door.

      I know it looks great!

My Swift had that same gloss pillar, and was wondering why Polos wouldn't have it..

I have a 5 door model, so I am thinking laterally.

Why don't I get a vinyl place to cut the right shape for me in heavy duty black glossy vinyl?

Would do exactly the same job wouldn't it? for fraction of cost?
      06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.

Pretty sure for the double the cost, you can get the 5 door version at Vagparts?

Vagparts offer the 5 door version as well (i.e. rear pillars). Expect to shell out some money for them, especially for postage

Picked up the gloss b pillars today from the post office and got stuck into it as soon as i got home..

They were pretty easy to install, no real headaches other than losing one stupid screw cos my dog jumped into the car

Took 15 minutes all up to get both in..

                                Heres some before and afters
                                Taken with no flash

Hope that helps the silver polo owners out. I think its an easy, cheap and shmick looking mod to do...

heheh and excuse the grubby finger print marks LOL
