Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

its great for a cheap setup. only thing i dont like is the rubber joiners ill be replacing them with silicon ones soon enough.

decreased engine bay temps, pulls alot harder and smoother mid/ top end. i am seeing no difference with lag compared to stock.

i think its $$$ well spent and a hell of alot cheaper than other setups.

Just put decent silicone piping and hose clamps on. I bought an aeroflow pipe, very good quality. I think most of the others I have are Samco.

Dispatched already with a tracking number, so can't beat that. ☺

The way I figure it's just cheap enough that im happy to take a punt.. And because it's seat sport style any hose kit I get will be compatible with another core if I decide to upgrade later

But based off the review here im confident it'll do trick just fine. It's gotta be better than the little side mount.

How'd you go with piping? Would it be achievable to do at home? Only had my POG (well any car) for a year so i don't have much experience, however I'm learning as I go - trying to do everything myself.

I'm assuming you just scope it out in your head, and by various pipe work to make it fit?

Cheers guys! Thanks for helping me justify the purchase to myself ☺

As for the piping.. I'm by no means an expert. I've basically looked at the parts suggested in the FAQ thread. I've also checked out photos of the airtec kit. They're more or less the same.

Looks like everything can be sourced off ebay, think I calculated about 150-200 all up. That'll have to wait for the old funds to replenish first though. The piping I was looking at is from a local re-seller, but looks like it is all made by a UK company called ASH. Hopefully they're ok

he got a cheap mutifit pipe kit and had to cut to size and weld in a map port it would be alot easyer to buy a pre made pipe kit for the car
