  • stupid question - door lights

    Hey all

Stupid question, only picked up my pogo the other day, the little red things in the doors, are there actually lights behind there or are they just reflectors so oncoming traffic can see you have opened your door?

Also, has anyone had the program loaded for automatic window closing by their vw dealer and what did it cost?

    Cheers

Im pretty sure the auto-window program can be loaded at your 1st service along with other ones (like lock doors above 20km/h). It doesnt cost anything either. I know this is the case with Golf's.

The Window up or down auto from the key function is not available for the Polos. I have tried dealers and even Jmac has been unable to do it through VAGCOM. It should work .... but it doesn't .....

On ebay some people have been selling something to do this. Beware .... their stuff only work on MK4 Golfs and Boras. Does not work on Polos.

I'm pretty sure they are lights. I remember pulling them out once and they had wiring...

Maybe in Sth Africa ... not the 3-doors in Aus ... reflectors only.

well the ones by the drivers door light up if you lock the car with someone sitting in it and deactivate the alarm - ie in a dodgy area and you have passengers and wish to have someone still sitting in the car ie kids with the car locked without the alarm activated - so that light will actually light up - thats in the South Africa models - not sure if that also works in the Aussie models

We have a button just inside the driver's door to activate that option.

If you mean the switch in the panel behind the driver's door, Sam ... that's not for those lights, that's for the internal movement sensor. Mine has no other switch and the reflectors are just reflectors.

i think thats what he was talking about. naughty was talkign about the 'deactivation of alarm', and sam replied with, 'we have a button on the inside on the drivers side for that option'.
