Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Mate of mine has a Focus RS with one, it's a good thing!
Forge stuff is not the best, its ok but the Forge loses more pressure than the Seat one

I had the Forge and got rid of it and bought the Seat sport, now moving on to a PWR

With the way the South African rand is to the AUD you should land the kit relatively cheap.

Can email me on info@eightysixautomotive.co.za for some for info
Hey, could you please post some pics of how the pipe runs from the turbo too the hot side of the intercooler.

+ 1 for Seat, had the Forge one before that.

Airtech looks the same, but more expensive?

Hmm thanks for the feedback. Looks like the SEAT Sport FMIC is the way to go these days.

Looks good! Just curious, did you have to cut the front bar or the bumper to make it fit?

I think the idea is do it in combo with the downpipe and run a stage 2 tune

There'll be negligible increase in power, but power will be maintained longer without the heat soak that you may currently be experiencing. I also found the car was marginally more linear as it came on boost, perhaps a result of the larger core so a little bit of lag, but actually prefer it - wouldn't say it deteriorates the way the car drives in anyway. On my daily, it's just a usual stage 1 equivalent tune, FMIC and usual supporting mods, no dump pipe.

I have the seat sport FMIC on both of my polo's and still get heat soak when on the track, but takes at least few laps on warm days. You can't replicate that driving style on the street. I have/am considering changing the FMIC on the track car, but won't be anytime soon.
