  • CC Stage 2 tune

Caught up with Gav yesterday for the Stage 2 Custom Code tune. While I was there he also changed the standard dogbone bushing to a Powerflex track version. Some pics below of the standard bushing vs. powerflex.

The stage 2 tune is excellent - the car is much more powerful and pulls hard when the turbo kicks in. Power delivery is smooth and not peaky. Gav did a bunch of logging and tuning to get it all running smoothly. Overall, fantastic bang for your buck - highly recommend it to anyone still considering it.

Powerflex bushing has changed the feel of the car too - not that much vibration (in fact, bugger all) and definitely helps shift feel and helps get the power down.

Can't recommend Gav enough - top notch customer service and he makes a mean cup of tea too!

Hoping it's not too wet at Lakeside tomorrow so I can give it a proper go

The stage 2 is certainly a big improvement over stock... although a few months on I find myself wanting more power

Gets expensive from here on end.

What fine tuning did you end up doing? I've not done anything with mine as yet other than load and go.

Hehe - I know this is just the start of a slippery slope! My next goals will be suspension and brakes. Then down the track will look at further engine mods.

Gav can explain better than I can but he adjusted the timing (via the software) after we did a few runs. I think we settled on 7.25 degrees in the end. He also checked the fuel trim.

Glad you like it Dan, thanks for the props.

That's Tetley tea if anyone wants to try it.

Lee, not sure if the Flashwire tune is the same as I have in the timing department. But logging it first with give you an idea of whats going on. Happy to talk you through it whenever you get there.

Timing is where the fun is at (esp with the winter temps). Get logging and get the most from your CC

Good testing today at Lakeside - car went like the clappers and I was very happy with the power. Only bummer is I think I've broken something as I have a knock coming from the near the dogbone mount/exhaust. Exhaust is a bit louder and I hear a knock sound from under my feet when I ease off the accelerator (mainly when lifting off quickly). Back to the exhaust shop next week so what the cause is. Bummer.

Can you log it to see if your still making full boost? Loose turbo bolts would result in lower boost and potentially the knock.

Boost felt much the same (boost gauge not installed yet tho) - but would need to log it as you said (would need to see Gav).

How hard is it to access the turbo bolts? I reckon you might be right about that - considering the exhaust got louder too. Will get it up on the hoist Monday and see what's up.
