Have had a mate try to put sound system in and failed. He is a mechanic/ auto electition and had a 06 polo and had no issues installing head unit etc apparently mines much harder

He's either a mech or an auto-elec. Most unlikely to be qualified in both.
If riveted in speakers are causing him to stumble then maybe he's best to stick with alternators & starter motors?carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

Installed a 5ch amp + new speakers, wiring & sound deadening myself, not overly hard to do yet quite time consuming if you want it perfect, drove the car around like a gocart with no interior panels for about 2 - 3 weeks, fun times.2016 Golf R, APR Stage 1
