Hmmm - I need tyres - yet another Cont has developed a bubble (I think i ran over a Mintie wrapper) but the rears are past their last legs and fronts have around another 10,000 in them (MUST watch your rotations people!!!) - still 45,000 isnt bad but they are SO weak. So many punctures and bubbles.
Advans (which I REALLY like - when I test drove the Mitsui Colt Turbo you could feel how good they were) or Marangoni for price and good feedback.

I liked it - even liked the looks of it (one of the few it seems). More hard core handling than the Pog but it felt fairly cheap inside and has a really annoying turbo lag from 1st to 2nd. Also the Recaros would have been a pain in the arse (haha) as I was going to be doing over 250kms per day. But felt quick and in my opinion better handling as standard. But glad I went for Polo - better package and a more rounded car.
I just bought 4 x new Marangoni's (205 45 16) and they came to $230 each. I paid $190 last time. When I asked why so much more this time, they just said "exchange rate, global downturn" as the reason. The perfect excuse! That was from Jax in Mitchell, ACT.
I wasn't too phased by the price since I really like the tyres.
I noticed that not many (any?) people suggested getting a hold of Birdgestone Adrenaline tyres. Is that because they are new, or because they are expensive rubbish. I noticed that Wheels rats them quite highly.
Having looked around a bit (in the ACT) I found the following prices were the best I could find:
Despite the good wrap they have had on here, I am a little nervous about getting the Marangoni because I have never heard of their brand before. At $40 a corner more, are the PP2s worth it, or are they just trading on name?
Well I'm on my 3rd set of PP2's now and really didn't consider anything else. They are amazing in the wet and dry and give a lot of confidence, they handle nice on the track as well. In my eyes they're worth it, however they have gone up about $200 from my first 2 sets.
