Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Strut bar for Front and Rear

I have some questions related to front and rear strut brace.

I know a few of you guys have front strut brace. I also know you guys got it as a group buy from overseas somewhere. Who was the supplier of the strut brace or who made them? I am looking for one at the moment and I found this one from Forge:

404page - Forge Motorsport - Designer and Manufacturer of Intercooolers, Actuators, Valves, Pipes, Silicon, Wastegates, and Brakes - Engineered for Performance in the United Kingdom

Is the above strut brace a similar design to what you guys have? The note on the product says it is for the 9N Polo.

The other thing Forge have for sale is a rear strut brace. Has anyone fitted one of these to their car? If yes, then what does it mount to??

FMIB4RSB - We are dedicated in applying our wealth of knowledge and technical expertise, gained through years of research and development, to create products that deliver the highest level of quality.

I was thinking if im going to get the front strut bar I may as well get the rear too and pay for postage only once.

Yes, I realise they mount to the strut towers but the rear brace has what looks like a thread or something on it (have a look at the picture). It dosent mount on top of the strut towers as a front strut brace would.
I dont think VW put mounting holes there to fit aftermarket strut braces.

      So the question still stands!

Where does the rear strut brace mount to? Do you have to drill holes in the towers and put bolts through it??

If i dont have to put holes in anything for the rear bar i would consider buying one.
Otherwise ill give it a miss.

I already have the front strut bar and i love it. In my opinion it made changes of direction feel a bit better/firmer. Dont really know how to explain it !
The bar does look good under the bonnet too.

If we can get 5 people together Shaneth can arrange a decent price for us. Currently have 2 interested so far.

Post to the thread and when we get 5 we can order in 5 x front strut braces.

I will put my hand up for one if someone would have the decency to tell me how the hell they mount.

If i have to drill holes i will not be buying one. Not interested in drilling holes in my car.

There are no drilling of holes required for the Front Strut Brace though...... which is the 1 we are trying to organise atm.

Yep, sorry, see that now ..

I won't be interested in a rear one either since I'm not into drilling holes in my car either.

Fitting the FMIC is worrying enough......

I tried to have a look to see where it mounts to but the carpet is in the way and I didnt have time to take it apart but I will definately look into this. I dont have a front strut bar so I would want to get both at the same time.

yeah ill skip on the rear strut bar. Probably wouldnt make all that much of a difference unless you are flogging the absolute arse out of your car on a track.

I think ill put the cash towards a new steering wheel
