The Caractere kit is designed to be an upgrade for standard 9N Polos, putting one on a GTI would just dilute the GTI effect and make it look tame, why would you bother?

Similar logic to shelling out thousands for a CUP front-end, is it really worth it

I have to agree, GT3 ... all I'm doing is showing what is currently available if you've got the bux.

I dont like tacked on body kits but i do like Tosspots pic - but it i think it would only work well on the black.

i dont see the problem with spending money on styling modifications. Not everyone wants to go fast.
Its cool to be just a little bit unique amongst all the other cars out there

I actually like the Caracterre front bar. Would look good on any Polo including the GTI. Probably especially the GTI with the matching honeycomb grill.

If it was available at a good price I'd buy it.

we get the caractere stuff pretty freely here in South Africa - my problem with it is that it can land up looking very ordinary like this



or it can look terrific depending on the installation of it and the job done to integrate it ie parts of the kit were used here



in South Africa we dont get the GTI in three door form - hence these are the 1.9 TDI but using the GTI front grille in the black one

looking at that black one though you can see that the honeycomb mesh on the grille has a bigger pattern than the one in the bumper - so it doesnt match very nicely in real life - i can get the caractere bumper very easily even though its a bit pricey - but its very available but it doesnt match what im imagining on the car

id love to be able to do what someone posted on a link to a german site where some guy took the golf 5 gti grilles and modded them into his polo grilles and made it look like this

I've been playing with this a bit as well.

Got hold of a set of GTI std grills and started modifying. Almost done 1 now. Not the same size mesh though. See a current state below, need to finish it off still (when I have time) The difference in weight is very noticable. Some improvement in the power to weight ratio there ....
