No fuel at Shell or Caltex

Hello All

Has anyone noticed that there is no premium fuel(98 and 95 octane) in any of Wollongong's Shell or Caltex pertrol stations.I looked on the internet and found nothing so I phoned the Shell company and was told there are refining and transporting problems BULL!.What a lie, does anyone know what is really going on out there.

mate had the same problems up here in bris esp at one servo round the cnr from me. i have just stopped using caltex and shell cause of this reason

The BP round the corner from me still has 98 and hasn't missed a beat, so I haven't noticed any issues

I did however go to a BP in Wentworthville and noticed that their pumps ONLY supply 91 and 95 with no 98 available period.

That was the tank I then drove on our cruise to Stanwell Park as well as round the day before getting my headlights. That tank has been the most efficient tank I have has at 9.25L/100km, more to do with the cruising than the fuel I would suggest, but goes to show that 95 in the VR6 may be just as good as the 98.... which I wil continue to buy anyway

There was a supply problem with the Shell Clyde refinery in Sydney affecting the supply of RON98 in greater Sydney. This has been on the news for a while now, and it dates back to January some time. BP Ultimate has been somewhat scarce these days too though. Maybe it's the beginning of Peak Oil!

Shell has been out for over a month now, I have switched to BP Ultimate. The one on Merrylands Rd Greystanes hasnt had problems supplying if any of you live out that way.

Shell in Bexley on Bexley Rd is almost running dry pumps even 95ron they are running out of it Better start getting diesels lol there plenty of that!

Havnt been able to get 98 in perth for over a month now.. everytime i need it and my petrol gauge is on empty.... they are out of it and theres no bp around thats close!

Weirdly, 95 and 98 was out of stock in Shell at the weekend BUT lo and behold they did have Shell V Power Racing at $1.65 and 100 RON......No wayyyy

I sense a conspiracy.

Dosent Caltex purchase the fuel from Shell refineries? I think I heard something like that. I could be wrong

Caltex has its own refinery in Sydney. The Shell refinery at Parramatta is on a 2 month shutdown for maintenance which was brought forward earlier than planned which may be affecting supply. BP sources product from Shell in Sydney with the exception of Ultimate.

Plenty of vortex 98 out at my area.. filled up last night, was abit expensive but i only needed half a tank

Thats right. I actually asked the sevo lady when filling up for the Gong gtg last sunday. She said shell has been out all premium for a month already and may not have supply for another month.

I just went again to fill up... no petrol... the guy owns an old gti, and he was like... yeah we didnt buy petrol because its too expensive at the moment... we only get a shipment in when the price is right or we have to up the petrol prices...

So.. to sum things up.. they dont have petrol because its too expensive?

is that a load of crap? 98 is empty so obvoiusly there is demand! put the price up i dont care there is DEMAND!

well now that everyone is saying that 98 is out most places, that better be 98 that i filled up with last night otherwise i'll be mighty peeved off considering i paid $1.42
