17inch Replicas

Im wondering if anyone knows if there is anywhere in Sydney or even Australia that I could find 17inch replica's of our GTi rims or even better 17inch Huffs.

Ive searched high and low to no avail. Im able to get them from Ebay in the US for 399US but shipping will be between 800-1000US. Once I get some decent rubber for them im looking at around $2500AUS which is ridiculous.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I emailed a South African site re:shipping 2-3 weeks ago and they havent bothered replying!

I cant believe even say Tempe Tyres (cringe) havent made replicas. There are no other wheels I want to put on my car except these which sucks.

Ok cool Ill contact him. The only thing is generally when they pop up on EBay they are from Golf GTi's so therefore they will not fit our Polo's.

Always worth seeing what tirerack.com has, too. They will ship to Australia and, provided you are careful about shipment size/value, can be quite good value

You can get a set of 5x100 => 5x112 adaptors and fit the Golf wheels ...

A set of adaptors will cost you about $500 landed from the USA.

Yeah but then that will blow out costs even more. If I cant find what I wand I may just get spacers/adaptors and fit them with the 16s to fill the arches abit better and look more aggressive.

Yep, $500 is a lot for the adaptors, but you can pick Golf GTI wheels on ebay (with tyres) for under $1000. I've seen a set go for less than $800.

All up makes it $1300 which is actually pretty good.

Update

Just phoned tempe tyres and they said they do have replica 17s for $175 per rim. He said they would fit a polo but I never trust what they say over the phone.

I will probably pop down there on my day off next week to see what the quality of the rims are and the offset/bolt pattern.

Their prices include tyres, which are normally cheap Korean rubbish.
