I had a set of ceramic pads that gave off a brown/gold dust - that would match your rims!

Haha. Would rather a solution than a quick fix. They look good though! though!

I didn't get enough cover of clearcoat in some areas and they are holding dirt after cleaning! Doh. But as long as they are glossed it cleans easy
          Its Moorabbin

What paint did you use? Just a normal gold automotive colour & clear?
Ah, the service road! So Adam looked after you OK?

                Re: RDA vs DBA Rotors

                Thanks.

Took a week of sanding ay work breaks and after work. Then painting wad only a few hours worth.

I used 2 cans metal guard from bunnings ($26ea) over a 400g $10 can of sca etch primer. Pretty expensive paint but you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find gold auto paint other than Plastidip! Looked and asked everywhere. Used some ****ty cheap clearcoat accidently, hope it lasts

Well instead of ordering my 2 sets of DBA rotors through GSL (like I should have), I went through a mate in the brakes business who said he could get DBA at cost price. Now I have a stack of RDA boxes sitting in the garage. Bugger.

Well for what I paid I'll throw them on and see how they last. I have to say the slotted/dimpled ones I got for the Suby look pretty nice.

Still getting pads from GSL, but apparently the HPX's are less dusty than Remsa's so will order a set of those Monday (unless they do orders on weekends - anyone know?)

Just for info Repco is having a sale on TRW rotors tomorrow for 10 days.

Buy a front set and get a rear set for free - not a bad deal, especially if you're selling and need to replace brakes.

I priced them for a MKV GTI and was quoted $96 each for the fronts and $86 each for rears.

They are a Chinese made item (no surprise there).

I haven't used them, so can offer no insights other than they're cheap. And they may be nasty.
