Edit... I stuffed up the pricing... Picked my car up from dad's (I can't get to dealer) and he informed me I owed him $420

        Gary Crick (Maroochydore) = $517

Apparently the brake fluid replacement is the cost "enhancer".

Anybody has a good brake fluid to recommend ?
Ipswich might be closer for you than Maroochydore - try Ian Boettcher Motors.

I've heard shocking stuff about both Highway and Austral service. But Boettcher always seems to get positive remarks. I haven't tried them yet (only 2,500 km) but a few people I work with swear by them. Worth a try.

Highway did a top job on my Aircon ... under warranty cost me nix, zero, nada ... and my Pog has 'APR Tuned' badging, Forge sticker on back window, K&N sticker on air box, Forge front strut brace and TIP. Not a word said about warranty.

Yeah, they were saying that to me. They will only void it if the aftermarket parts directly effected the part thats broken.

When I asked Austral about getting it chipped they were pretty much saying it voids all warranty, whilst still encouraging me to do it.

I wont comment on who but u pay for the fancy showrooms and workshops at the dealers. Independents are more thorough and cheaper. Warranty work ,they have to do a top job as they have to "warrant" the repairs. Skill level well i leave that up to u.
Enough said IMO as i feel we are starting to bag dealers, and we still need them for various reasons whether it be just for warranty.

I'm up for my 30,000km service as well. I'm thinking of booking it in at Austral cause they did an alright job last time at the 15,000km service and they charged me $352. Furthermore I have three things that need to be repaired under warrenty....

Does anyone have quotes/costs for a 12 month /15,000 km service in Melbourne. In the manual it says it is just an oil change. Surely it would be hard to justify more than $200??

I just got quotes from Barloworld Mentone. $270 for Oil Service, $370 for the full one. Includes a replacement car for the day and Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Still shopping around...

Do it yourself, and get a mechanic friend to stamp it...Dealer services are bulls##t, and aren't worth the money...Just remember, The dealer can't do squat if you got the service done at another place...as long as they are qualified mechanics in an accredited workshop, and use the right parts(ieil/fuel filters). you are covered.

I have my 3 month/3000km service due soon and i have no idea where to go...

The dealership where i bought my gti from... well my best mates little brother's friend.. who i see regularly works there as a car cleaner/detailer...

He said HI! i thrashed one of your cars today.. i was caining it and gunning it before i returned it to the customer.....

This guy is an idiot... me and my mate think hes a tosser... but what makes it worse is that he is driving customers cars badly... How pissed off would you be if you knew a 19 year old **** was thrashing your car?

So now im scared to get my car checked into that dealership... since i know what goes on... He could be lying... cause hes a ****, but who knows....

Oh and i just noticed my tinting is being scratched by the door... which meens i HAVE to go back to that dealership

The 3003km service is just a cursory inspection, with nothing changed, and it doesn't cost anything. It takes about 20 min. I was with the dealer while it was being done.
If the stupid f##kbag admits to thrashing customer cars, complain to VW Group Australia about the conduct of its service personnel, or complain the the Department Of Consumer Affairs. There is nothing like the threat of a Government investigation to get peoples act together.
