HID on polo gti

I would never put HID kit on the polo stock headlights. there are some headlights which are designed for HID but without projectors (eg; Lexus IS300, skyline r34). no matter how low you re-aimed the headlights, you'll still give glare to oncoming traffic
If you wanna be creative, do what I did. Retrofit. Did it to my Camry, 4years ago. I remembered when I got it first, it was awesome/cool, but then realizing oncoming traffic kept giving me high beamsSince there's no aftermarket headlights for the camry, I retrofitted. not cheap though, but at leas you're doing something unique
here it is....(also gave the LED eye lids)

I do have HID in mine for over a year now. 6000K type. Not once that ppl complain or flash at me. Its does produce a little bit of glare but not blinding. The ballast is mounted on front bumper support bar n hidden, wiring loom goes to the rubber cover behind head light. I have to re-aim the beam again after these were install using proper beam alignment tool which most workshop should have. The beam still not as sharp as standard H7 (depend on the quality of the HID kit or bulbs), but by using the head light height adjustment switch of the car, i can get a good spread of light on country road (max height) or city road (lowest height). I got friends to drive the polo and i drove in different car to test after, quite happy with result, will not go back to standard light...
Seen another white polo in melb inner city once with quad exhaust and HID on both head light and fog light... now that one really annoyed me as the HID was not adjusted properly and they were also 8000K, way too bright.
But if any one want to fit HIDs, my recommend are: get good quality kit, prefer 4000K as they MAY be legal (most factory HID are 4000K equipped) n aim properly after.

Courtesy of Jon I have been trialling a set of Osram bulbs which is a cross between the Phillips Diamond Vision and Phillips Power2Night, which work very nicely (hopefully I can keep this set). Driving through darker patches (especially on the M1), you can really notice the difference between the stock headlights and the Osram bulbs. Saves all the messing around with wiring up the HID kit and also minimises other drivers high beaming you due to your HID's (I'm very anti HID and I intentionally get behind HID drivers and high beam them to let them get a dose of what it feels like).
Dont ask me when they will go on sale, and what varients they come in as they are only prototypes that arent officially on the market. Anyway enough said... Here is a picture of the bulbs installed. Left is the Osrams and the right is the stock bulbs. These bulbs dont seem to affect the people in front of you (alleged reports according to Jon and another friend Adam).

The only car that physically comes standard with HID's is the Honda Accord (I personally dont like Honda's full stop).
I personally dispise ricers that think that HID's are a must and are cool. Truth is the dodgy chinese kits have less light intensity than your stock bulbs!
Most Euro's with excessively bright headlights arent HID's but rather Xenons. Furthermore, Euro's with Xenons have auto leveling, which helps the person in front not get blinded by your headlights.GTI|BBS|Forge|Whiteline|Custom CAI+K&N|Sparco|Toyo|Martini|JVC|Focal|ScanGaugeII

Hey those projectors doesn't look too bad lmao... nah, the vw headlight are great, wouldn't pull it out n put those cheap one in unless its broken... btw, i drove in front, side by side, head on direction while some one drove mine many time n made adjustment till i'm happy that no one would get offensive of my head light. Seen blinding standard HID? look in to Chrysler 300C head on... I had camry sportivo came up behind me and i had to move out of the way cos of his blindly unadjusted hid... I'm happy with my, drove back from phillip island one night and its was so nice to see the road properly...
