Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

If you know they are the same dimesions then it'll fit no problems. VAG only have about half a dozen different air filters, to cover nearly every car they built in the last 20 years.

My ETKA doesn't go new enough to look the OE numbers up.

I use this with a K&N filter and am happy with the results.

I use the Forge FMCL007P Closed Loop Diverter valve with a K&N filter ... and wouldn't use anything else. Both together and using a Forge TIP and the Seat intake have added a whole new dimension of smooth / crisp acceleration to my Pog.

i'm looking to get a BOV and flat bed filter for my car. i haven't actually looked to see if it already has an aftermarket filter, and after my yesterdays disovery of an APR chip, it probably has a filter already.
But any advice on what types of BOV's and types of flat bed filters (pref. K&N) would be much appreciated....or even if to stay away from BOV's, its your court, let me know.

Cheers to you all my new found fellow dubbers!!
i have a bmc replacemnet panel air filter installed. not a problem as yet. the only probelm with the oiled filters is if there is too much air on them. i have run oiled filters most of my vehicles and i haven't had a problem with them.

bmc are sold through autobahn on the east coast.

Turbo Intake pipe (The tube that runs from just after your airbox down to your turbo)

Re K&N filters - They sound louder (because of the air rushing past the metal grating) - But they don't flow any better than the standard filter IMO (And in Sebs opinion)
Also - They are oiled so they will **** with your MAF (It won't die straight away but it will die ****load quicker and they aren't cheap to replace)

woops that should be too much air on the material will gunge up a map sensor. it is only a light spray that is required. if dripping off, too much
