  • Looking to get a blow-off valve and filter for my Polo GTI, any advice???

    hey all,
i'm looking to get a BOV and flat bed filter for my car. i haven't actually looked to see if it already has an aftermarket filter, and after my yesterdays disovery of an APR chip, it probably has a filter already.
But any advice on what types of BOV's and types of flat bed filters (pref. K&N) would be much appreciated....or even if to stay away from BOV's, its your court, let me know.

Cheers to you all my new found fellow dubbers!!

    Stay away from K&Ns

BOV - Go a dual port (half atmosphere, half plumb-back)

Turbosmart and GFB both make straight swaps.

I have a turbosmart and find apart from the noise ( ) that boost comes on abit quicker through the gears.

you wouldn't happen to have any part numbers for the Turbosmart Dual Port BOV would you? so i can just call autobahn to see if they have one in stock or order it for me.

i have used the turbosmart dual ports.. sounds nice but not aggresive

my hks ssqv was the loudest bov and sounds like a laser

and now my greddy type rs makes different sounds on different rpm, but its a whip lash sound.

i have a K&N panel filter and i don't have any problems, it's alot smoother through the revs aswell.

                    Get a pod filter.

                    Block your bov.

Hey Sovereign - can you advise what filter to get (if any), if K&N isn't a wise choice?

The problems with filters is over oiling. The oil gets on the MAF and stops it working properly.

Green Cotton one don't seem to suffer the same problems in my experience.

And just to add a divertor will keep your EPC light off , they will run rich as the system is expecting metered air. Forge divertor IMO

Thought as much - that's why I ran a AEM DryFlow pod on my Mazda3. Funny thing is Green Cotton don't list the GTI, only the 1.9 TDI. Although according to the BMC filters website they both take the same filter...
