  • Trying to consider my battery / intake options

So i have a problem whereby the small Harley size battery in the Pog doesnt hold enough charge to not be used all week then start at the weekend, here is my engine bay :-

The small battery was put in so that the CAI can be installed, its intake hose goes down to the front fog light (which has been removed), now i dont really want to remove this intake as i am aware of the benefits it gives but i need to sort out a larger battery. So i went to Marshall who couldnt help then Battery World which said they have a special one and could mod the base plate to accept it, shame it was $380 for the battery alone! so near $450 once installed. A bit more than i wanted to pay.

Really i want to someone keep the CAI but also have a large OEM size battery... what does everyone think? possible?

mate i'd be checking your terminals or some sort of issue, myself and anthony run the dekka battery which has lasted for me a good 6 months already

I'm not sure why you guys are having issues with the DEKA's as my first one lasted almost 3 years and don't have any drama's when left for a week or so??

What's the model number of the ones giving troubles?

Hmmm ok, maybe its just cause mine is dead (after only being a year old). I watched its voltage drop over 2 days in my car park from 12.2v to start down to 11.9 from just being parked up, so next step is to drop the negative lead off and watch to see if drops still....

Took off the neg lead last week and the battery held stable, no drop in voltage, so its gotta be a power drain somewhere, anyone know how to find it?

I was using a Connects2 Canbus module on my Pioneer deck. Drained the battery a few times untill i decided to get rid of it
