What k04 have you got? I remember you had it for sale but you never mentioned the actually BW part number, you just said it's a K04. Is it a K04 001 etc etc?

Never seen anyone fit a TFSI turbo on a 1.8T yet. Not sure it will go myself. The downpipe comes off the side and not down.

I don't want to prevent a sale but a Frankenturbo or proper K04 would be a better buy and a sure fit.

I'll keep you posted, I wouldn't mind K04ing my cabriolet eventually. It's a long term thing, but I reckon I might be able to get one in the UK for a little cheaper - just had a quick look and there's a guy selling the K04-032 with S3 injectors, manifold, downpipe etc for $600 and I can get stuff over for the same price as shipping internally in Aus. You'll find someone though, not many people have the same ties with the UK as I do.

Does anyone actually know why it won't fit? there's a lot of assumptions here. Cheers

That K04 will only fit the following golfs: MK5 GTI, Mk5 GTI Pirelli, MK6 ED35 and a MK6 R. It does not fit on the EA888 engine as it is off a EA113. IT WILL NOT FIT A MK6 GTI GOLF. It will most certainly not fit the 1.8T engines.

Other VWs it will fit include the Scrirocco R and Jetta and Passat 2.0Ts with the EA113 engine.

The reason it wont fit others is because the heads on these engines (EA113 and EA888 and 1.8T) are different and the spacings on the exhaust ports on the heads are very slightly different. Trying to fit this without modification of the manifold will mean all the holes don't line up properly.
