Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Stock motor is BJX code. all the same.
Keep in mid that it is the torque that kills these rods.
A K04, K04 hybrid, even a K03s will have massive torques spikes, this is what kills the rods.

With the bigger T3/T4 or even a GT28XX the torque curve is way more linear and and doesnt spike as hard.
The torque is also brought higher into the rev range which is much softer on the internals.

I been driving with this set up daily now for over a year

Yeah just saw one of those done on a Lupo, it was mental mate, look forward to you doing that, i contemplated it for my 6N2 but its hard enough getting the thing to mount in the bay as it is
Sam hit Gav up for the tune via Custom code, cant go wrong there when your done.
          Cheers

thought I would post this video

this guy in the uk is running a k04 hybrid similar to Frankenturbo F23, with rods 440 injectors with stock fuel pump
its his revised tune after running the turbo in. Plenty quick I reckon and its a 2nd gear to 3rd gear pull
