There isn't very much to get colour coded anyway.. It couldn't be anymore than 600 or 700 dollars would it??

I'm not really sure what it costs to get the bonnet done. I got mine done when I got some crash damage repaired, and it only cost me a carton of Corona's to get the bonnet sprayed.

BLACK BONNETS....WHERE??

i want to get my roof done and have been told it will probably cost about $1200-$1500 (i'm guessing colour coding would be significantly more)

there is a fair bit of work to do and costs involved:

- cost of paint
- sanding back
- prepping
- spraying
- baking
...and of course labour.

just so damn expensive.

a bonnet would be a lot cheaper because they remove the bonnet, clean the surface, tape it up, and spray. lot less work to do.

hot tip, make good friends with a panel beater/painter.

also, if you are going to get it done somewhere you have not been before, make sure you ask the all important question:

"DO YOU WANT TO DO IT?"

cos if they even show slight signs that they dont...leave! it will be a sh*t job and they wont take pride in it.

The bonnet and the logistics of spraying it sound much easier than doing the roof... understandable it would have an effect on the price...

hmmm i like the idea of asking - do you want to do it.. if theres any hesitation i guess thats an inclination of them either having too much work, they would rush the job and possibly have undesired results and a crappy job in general...
