  • Ultra Racing Brace group buy

Hey there, just transferring the group buy from the what did you do to your pog today thread.

Ok so spoke to Lewis from UR Australia and he is keen to get a group buy happening. I will work out cheaper if we have a contact person in each state he can ship the gear to, then people pick their gear up from there. I'm happy to cover the QLD people. He needs numbers and kinds of braces to figure out pricing then he will email the quote.

    So if you can just list the braces you're interested in and I will take it from there. So they offer;

    Front upper strut brace (UR-TW2-1170) - $142
    Rear upper strut brace (UR-RE2-1174A) - $132

    Brisbane $2251

Thanks for everyone's commitment so far. As it stands we are up for only $10 postage per person as Luis has offered a flat shipping rate regardless of the number of braces.

So guys we need an organiser for each city. This person will collect all the money for his city and transfer that total to Luis. Then Luis will post all those braces to that organiser then the others from your city can make arrangements to collect. Only really effects Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

In the case of TDIfan and Stuwey you guys get off easy and you can just send payment to Luis and he will send out your braces direct.

So we need someone fairly central in Sydney and Melbourne to volunteer as the organiser for your city. Please let me know.

For Brisbane can I get a vote on whether you guys can wait for me to return from overseas in about 3 weeks of if someone is willing to organise everything now and hold onto my braces for me until I return?

Been to tax man this morning, so things are looking better (benefits of a useless "investment" property hey)

My interest in pricing would be as follows:
Front upperstrut brace - pretty well certain
Rear upper strut brace - can anyone confirm if these are easy to pull in and out? I need the boot space so would only install for track days. Otherwise would go the rear lower brace I might do both too depending on price.
    Lower front member brace

    Maybe:
Middle lower member brace - only a maybe
Front sway bar - only a maybe.

Can they do the front sway bar drop links? I need to replace mine.

IMO the Forge rear strut is a much better option for those looking to get some rear bracing, perfect fitment and pretty easy to install, only thing is you have to cut two small holes in your carpet but it's hardly noticeable...and it's easily removable.

The UR one looks like you either have to drill into the chassis or it just sits there? But I've never seen it so can't know for sure...

16 braces so far, I'm guessing if we can total 20+ that should put us in a nice place!

                        Hello gentlemen.

What has been proven to be the more effective braces to get that would benefit the 9n3?
My guess is front strut, centre and rear upper?

Here is the Forge install link http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/med...ng%20guide.pdf

I'm guessing the UR one is the same as the Weichers one where you have to drill a couple of holes and bolt it in. More secure IMO but won't suit those who want quick removal.

My only reservation with the Forge stuff is it's very flimsy being hollow alloy. Still plenty of flex which defeats the purpose. I felt a noticeable difference when I changed my front strut brace to an steel one from the Forge. And with the Forge braces if you are constantly adjusting them they can thread very easily because of the soft alloy.

The Forge rear strut is actually pretty solid, it's a good 2-3 times thicker than the Forge front brace which I agree is pretty flimsy.
