No idea. Don't forget my car has (relatively) lightweight Recaro's.

The day it got sprinted was not the day it got weighed. I did the circuit sprint with a full tank, i know that much.
    Cheap, Fast, Reliable. Choose two.

Thought it might be timely for us queenslanders to get some circuit times up here. I'm going to aim for doing sprints in March as I'm away later this month and have some gear on the way. My old official times for QR And lakeside are near irrelevant for this thread as the car was stock. We can discuss the details in another thread.

Sounds good to me Sean. Will I need a CAMS license for that?

Nope, just an AASA or something like that. They can be had on the day, used to be $20 for a day license and $55 for a year. Not sure how much these days.

Some footage from a Winton track day back in Jan. No PBs were set (tyres were shot) but still a tidy lap nonetheless

How many kms do you have on those Federals, Jason?

Incredible times you managed with a tyre that isn't a full on semi-slick..

Hmm, have probably have done 3 track days on those tyres with around 10,000km regular driving. They've held up quite well, the shoulders are a bit worn but I rotate the tyres quite often. It was really hot that day the clip was taken, pretty sure the tyres overheated.

Some official times for QR using NatSoft timer.

                    Clubman - 1:07.2013
                    Sprint - 1:04.1
                    National Circuit - 1:32.5398

Ran on semi-slicks. Above is the order they were ran. My last session on national circuit with the fuel light. I think each time could be scrap into the second below. so a high 1.06 on clubman, sprint in a high 1:03 and national a 1:31. I was quite happy with my lines for the most point, perhaps leaving a bee's whisker in turn 1, and turn 3 hairpin on national. Otherwise, that's all I got.

Some video with editing. unfortunately when I had my laptimer going I wasn't recording video and vice versa. Just a technology fail on my part so no telemetry to provide at the moment.

Impressive timing. For Sepang, though I've not tracked much but given the right driver, I think 2:50-2:53 for decent modded Polo is possible. In contrast, stock FD2R Civic can easily dips below 2:45

I wouldn't underestimate the similarity in lap times between a lightly modded but well set-up polo and that of a civic type R or any hot hatch bar megane/Focus RS. Though there a 2 polo's I know of in Aus lapping as quick as the Focus RS. Obviously a much longer track will make the marginal difference in pace more pronounced though my times are as quick (or quicker) as any other lightly modded integra, civic and clio sport. IMO, the biggest challenge with the polo is downforce, a front lip would be nice. And dear I say the other cars may be more rewarding/engaging when squeezing a lap time.

I'm in car 58, which they've called it a Golf.

                            Sean,

In Sepang, FD2Rs tops higher than Megane 250 and Focus RS. Probably the circuit suits better for FD2R. In all out time attack, well prepped FD2R tops 2:28 higher than most participating supercars except for CBR35 GTR. Anyway, I can't see the results based on the link you provided...

Wow. I was thinking it was the hatchback civic rather than sedan, which is all we get and they aren't much chop. Would have considered the sedan if they'd arrived. Impressive piece of gear by the sound of it to better megane and focus. Not that I consider the polo in that league of hatchback champs.

Just checked the links, yeah don't know why they aren't going directly to the pages, needs to be clicked through. Circuit Racing at top centre, than 19/4/13 BMW track day.

Natsoft have introduced changes to their website preventing you from linking directly to race results - all links now take you to the main page which includes their advertising banners.

I guess you can't blame them for wanting some ad revenue given they host the results for free but it would have been nice to see that implemented in a more user-friendly manner.
