Cold Feed Induction Kit on Ebay

Looks like a cost effective mod.

Looking at all options does anyone know what this kit would be like:

I'm not sure whether it's worth the extra money or whethert it would fit.

Plus what do you think of these aluminium pipes:

They would improve the looks of the install plus be less restrictive. (As long as the shape is flexible enough to fit).

Aluminium will transfer heat, it's all about getting cold air.

Good point about aluminium.
Will look at how much space there is over the weekend.
Running an Optima yellow top which apparently are a bit smaller than original.

For your future turbo, I think the stock box may be restrictive. Cant stress enough how much engine bay air sucks (as in is bad) compared to fresh air, so get it plumbed right.

If you look around you might see that I've tried pods in the bay, custom heat shields, open enclosures in the bottom half of the engine, etc.

Personally, a 10degree day is awesome and a 30degree day makes my car feel lazy. IMO heat plus small turbo's = more noise but slower.

Yeah, I agree.
Took a look a litttle while ago to see how much room there is in the engine bay to run one of the listed ebay items.
When you remove the air box you can fit in the new round canister in its place, but then you cacn can either of two ways as per this link:

That is on the left of the battery or on the right.
I have an optima yellow top battery which is smaller so either direction is not an issue.

If you go to the left then the intake would join the original spot where the PD160 intake normally joins but you would have to make a couple of sharp turns slowing down the air speed.

If you go to the right it goes around the battery in a soft curve down to the fog lamp opening. But, and a big but, the washer bottle filling neck consticts the path down.

What have other people done to solve this that have installed BMC CDA's.

I'd like to keep all the plumbing 76mm if possible.

I've got a smaller battery.
Thats not the issue. I can probably get 76mm tubing around the battery but getting down to the fog lamp is the problem.
The washer bottle refil neck takes up most the space there.

Ok. My battery is small but nowhere near that small. Thats tiny. Thanks for the info.
Does the water filler neck constrict the path down with the battery tray cut down?

The water filler neck does restrict things a little, and I considered quite seriously just ripping the washer bottle out and trying to fit a mk4 or 6n bottle up in the engine bay somewhere. That said, my ducting is 82mm diameter and fits down (with a bit of skin off knuckles) without too much hassle. It would be easier if there was more room, but once you cut the battery tray down (and put a smaller battery in), you quickly find a lot more room to move.
