M10 x 50mm x 1.5mm pitch. Some inconel bolts would be the go.
Lockwiring would help, but the nature of the beast is 1/8th of a turn to loosen its start. Also the location is, lts say, not really friendly to being able to get lockwire secured in there. i would be all for that too...
Jimmy, a group buy might be on
Yes, I was going to say the biggest problem with wiring is not the drilling, or the wire...it's the #@$&g location of the bolts! Definitely requires evolution of the species to produce a primate with opposable thumbs and wrists!

There is som much expansion and contraction happening there. I know not an excuse as i dont think it happen to other makes, although i heard recently a customer had there xr6 ute turbo come loose!!!

OK ... I'm pleased (& somewhat embarrassed ) to report that it is NOT my turbo making these horrible noises ... it's my aircon. Jimmymac had a look at it today and we went out for a test run. He says probably the "TX" valve or the compressor ... but at least it's not my turbo.
I'll still happily coordinate our documentation of loose turbo bolts and see what we can do about these in the long term ... so if anyone else out there is having these problems ... please post to this thread.
Firstly great to have met you Dave and dont be embarrassed about that noise mate, it is a scary noise if u havent heard it before. Anyway i have another idea about locking the bolts. What about a tab washer between the bolts??? This was an effective way of locking back in the day and we all know the oldies are the goodies!!! Meanwhile i have emailed my old foreman mate at Boeing to source some hight temp bolts!!!!
Keep yas posted!
