Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Would you be able to measure & tell us what the max & min dimensions of the spreader tool are please?

Nailed one side tonight. No spreader, just an Allen key from a cheap Bunnings set of about 24 Allen keys, one of which was also the PERFECT size to fit in the top of the coilover. Funny thing was, not one single one of the expensive kits had the right size.
M14 bit wasn't required either. Vice grips did the job with no signs of them even having been there.

I'll get the other side finished tomorrow and then prep up the tutorial.

Cheers, Jimmy! Might need to come see you soon for a couple of bits and pieces I want to get done.

Checked my strut tops and gave them a freshen up. They were in pretty good condition, so I'll probably give them another six months before replacing.

Had some other dramas, but it's all done now and ride is good.

Soooo, I WAS intending to load up the tutorial tonight, complete with video, but that kinda went out the window at 6:30 this morning... I'm in hospital for at least this week.

                Stay tuned, people!

Thanks guys! Still in a hospital bed, but it's looking like I should be able to go home on Monday night.

I really appreciate the well wishes and looking forward to modding + driving again in a few days

                                Glad to be out.

Once I got home last night, I had another session with my new coilovers to adjust the front height (too high still).
Looks like the adjusting collar on one seized up on me, though...

Does anyone here use a spring compressor when adjusting their coilovers or does everyone just adjust them whilst there's still some tension on the collar?
