I mean that the thing was just gutless until right in the upper regions of the rev range and even then, uphill it still felt like it wasn't really gettin anywhere. Why should I have to drive an everyday performance car at that rev range all the time for it to be enjoyable? True, that the top en is good for a race track that has high speed corners, but you still need torque to pull pi of the slower speed stuff on road and track. You want to make a gap in traffic in the GTI, you drop back one gear and ride the torque (unless you're Troy who doesn't need to drop back a gear), in the civic, drop back 2 gears, then realise you needed to drop back another because you're still not in the power band.
Yes, VTEC is fun but having driven both an S2000 and the Civic type R in question, I couldn't live with it everyday, it would just annoy me like the old school turbo lag in my 4x4. Waiting......waiting......waiting..... There we go! Change gear ....waiting.....waiting.....Oooh there it is again...sigpic

I will say, on the track, both cars would be an absolute joy. I know cause I've taken both cars - different driving styles, but the same grin on my face!

Sorry guys, didn't mean for it to sound so troll-like, there was actually several emoticons in there which for some reason, being in my iPhone haven't shown up. Post deleted for the sake of harmony, it was never meant to cause offense.sigpic
