Not sure why you would take it to a dealer for a service anyway?? I would only take it there for a warranty claim. I take both my cars to Audvolks and the pricing is what you would expect to pay, not with a little bonus ontop :/

      Volkewerke is friggin awesome.

to the OP - dont beat yourself up, i'm sure that MANY of us dubbers have paid through the nose for dealer services at least once or twice during our VW tenure.

at least next time you'll know which workshops are good to go to - workshops with awesome knowledge, service and prices to boot.

Gee I'm glad I live in Gold Coast/Brisbane. Those up here know why.

Plus with an independent, you should be able to speak to the person doing the work.....a very very important benefit IMO

It's one of the most important IMO. It's the only way you can work out if you have someone competent working on your car.

With my warranty issues, having to go through and deal with the service depts of both Bris VW dealers was worse than full-on dental work.

Yep, have definitely learnt my lesson!
To make matters worse, I had to bring my car back to VW the other week to replace the window motor which of course they stuffed up and ordered the wrong part.. so I had to bring it in a second time

Will try Volkewerke for my next service.
