    Hoyhoy.
Well, you might be lucky to 1 day get a hold of 1 of these mounts, if Guy decides to get any more made.
PS. Most of us people that have had this done aren't bull-pooping.

      Is bull-pooping a thing now?

You need to be careful with that Joel. If you drive it to a dealer you may not get a courtesy car from the dealer, however if you call VW assist and it needs to be towed, VW I think will give you a courtesy car.

Fair enough guys. I was just responding to Adam's issue. From what he posted, it sounded like it's still an intermittent issue and is still quite drivable. Happy to be wrong, was just my impression that's all.

I was just giving a less dramatic alternative. Besides, I'd be stoked to get a courtesy car and if it means you need to get it on the back of a truck to get one I'd probably do it. They don't all just hand out courtesy cars though and as there is no competition in Canberra, I'd be pleasantly surprised to be offered a car but I doubt it. It depends on the dealer you are towed to.

I never said anyone was "bull-pooping" nor am I underestimating the modification/improvement. it's all good, I was merely stating that to date I haven't had an issue, the car is stock, and therefore have no need for it.

hey guys, you should check this video out of stock vs upgraded dogbone mounts on a Golf GTI, seems to get the power down much better...

Had mine fitted a week or so ago. Little more vibration at idle, but allround a definte improvement.

If you see what the std one looks like you cant believe a manufacturer would make something like it......

I had mine fitted at the same time as chip and downpipe, lots more uncomfortable at idle, but much better when moving.

I didn't drive to the dealer because then I'd have to sleep there until they opened in the morning.

Ok guys...So last week I headed down to Sydney to see some mates, some bands, and to buy some cool stuff for my car. Amongst the stuff I bought was an APR Lower Torque Mount.
I had a bit of down time at work today, so I took in the mount and the new bush, pressed out the standard bush with the Hydraulic press at work(its in very tight), and lined up the new APR bush properly, greased it up with the grease provided, and pressed it in. It went in very easily and freely. The last part is to add the metal bolt insert that just pushes in, and you are sorted.
I got home this arvo and bolted it back onto my car, then took it for a bit of a squirt. First impressions:
-More engine vibration at idle(this is expected as it a stronger and much denser material).
                  -Smoother power delivery while accelerating.
-Much smoother gear changing, both in the up and down shifting.
-Elimination of the 'bump' sensation from the engine when lifting off the accelerator.

I really think this mod is worth spending the money on. It really dose make the overall driving sensation feel alot smoother, and it has a great bang for your buck value.

Okay if you want crunch to occur follow these steps:

Find a busy road which you need to turn right on.

Put on indicator to turn right, turn off traction control because it slows you down.

Wait for a small gap in traffic. Dial up 2500rpm

Launch like a rocket on the 4th of July

Belt it into 2nd after 1st hits 6500rpm and.... *crunch grind nasty*

                    Swear.

If you don't get crunch, you are a lucky fellow.

I've had my dog bone mount installed a couple of months ago and I was wondering whether anyone of you had similar experience with the following:
                      * vibrations comes and goes at idle, sometimes, it is hardly noticeable,
                      * other times, it is quite extreme - if I have a bottle of water in the drink holder, I can see the water vibrate quite violently, and sometimes even my keys off the keyring rattles,
                      * having the AC on makes the vibrations a fair bit worse (I guess this is expected? ,
                      * going in reverse, at the friction point, just as the gears pick up, I hear rattles from the engine bay
                      * similar noise/rattles can be heard some times going forwards with engine around 3-3.5k rpm, and/or bumping road (so it's might be an unrelated issue)
I might take it down to get it looked at. What do you guys think?

That's not normal. There'd be about 15 threads on here from people complaining about it if it was to do with the new mount.

Actually, since I've posted, that noise has gone away, so I guess it's only intermittent... any idea what it could be?

I'd check all your engine mounts (including dogbone) ... see if any are loose.

Yeah, sounds like a loose engine mount more than anything. I havn't had any rattles, and the extra vibration isn't that much...I think you should get it checked out.

Have you experienced the feeling when you on the air conditioner, vibration like ****!

Even with me being the old fellow here, I think that I'm the the first to have the new APR dogbone mount installed & it feels bloody good too. There is little engine vibration when idleing. Better still is the clutch feel, it takes up earlier & easier. Also noticed more engine feel when driving.
I also tried to get the gearbox banging the firewall noise like I did get sometimes before, which made me think I was in an old cooper S.,,,,, but naaaaaaaaa.
This was fitted at--------- http://www.hp.net.au/---------- this morning.
                                Thanks Guy & Alex.
I have replace the APR engine mount for almost one week, it "was" real good for normal driving, and the little engine vibration when idleing is acceptable, I mean the opportunity cost is not big, as I feel the car is nicer for driving after this mod, but...however, I first time on the air conditioner yesterday, the car vibration like **** when idleing, I felt like set on a 20 years old bus~~ The summer is bloody hot in australia, and I will on the air con most of time, is thinking to replace the orginal one back.. what do you guys think?
