Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

When you say dome light do you mean the central light that comes on when you open the doors, that also contains the individual map lights? If so you should be able to pop the whole plastic part out quite easily, it's in two sections. The front section (under the 'grill') hosts the alarm sensors so you can leave that there, the remainder clicks into a cable so when you pop it out you can disconnect that cable to work on it.

Are you just wanting to change one of the bulbs? They screw out from the top side from memory....

refer post #4, i tried explaining how to yank the light assembly out. also, the bulbs can be removed by turning the 'button' (that holds the bulb) 90⁰ and then just pull out. you can see it at the top right in the picture there.
