    Okayyy, few Q's...
I ordered a few of the bolts that I linked to in the thread, but need to confirm which bolts actually hold the subframe to the body as it's a little different to the Golfs subby...
    I think it's these:

    Correct?

I'm hoping the new bolts fit as they have a big ass washer on them where the current ones don't. As you can see here:

    Should I remove the washers?

I inspected everything around the subframe and can't find any evidence of movement, scratches etc so I'm thinking it's not the frame moving but I'm going to change the bolts anyway, it can't hurt. I'm 99% sure my LCA bushes are stuffed and I think that when I go over a decent bump the LCA is smacking into the housing due to the bush not working.

    Pics to help confirm?

<EDIT> Forgot to mention I took these when it was on the ramps, when it's on the ground they're more centered. Still, they look stuffed to me.

Haha... those lower control arm bushes are royally f***ed. The bolt inside the bush should be sitting right in the middle of the big hole (if that makes sense). Can imagine the horrible noise its making.

Talk to Jmac, he'll fit some solid Seat ones for you. I haven't had a clunk since he did my car.

edit: read your post above about checking for movement and replacing bolts anyway.

I also went out to the garage and took a happy snap for show and tell

Checked my bushes today cause i have had a similar noise crack sound when near full lock going over uneven ground eg spoon drains. well mine are almost as stuffed as the spraycans pix. Now gotta get some new ones -the seat ones. Anyone know the rough cost if these?

Just a side note; I've been chasing squeaks/creaks coming from the rear end and pin-pointed them to the rear shock absorber top mounts. I removed and greased the hell out of them to try and patch it for now and they're a lot quieter but they'll need replacing.
I believe the part number is 1J0513353D. There's 'D', sports, and 'G', comfort versions. Not sure which the Polo comes with but 'sports' sounds good to me.

                  <EDIT> These ones:
