I can get a mk6 one for a decent price, is there a way to connect auto lights to work on a 9n3?

No idea but I am interested in the answer as looking at doing the same.

It should be just plug in and play.

Wouldn't your car have to have the sensor in the windscreen/rear view mirror to allow the auto lights to function? I suspect that without this sensor, the auto function wouldn't work.

I did not think that far ahead.

Just had a look at my A3 and it has rear view mirror sensor.

I guess I would need that, also will need to be wired up, seems like it will be harder than I thought but I will keep looking into it and see if it is indeed possible

Why not just get the non auto light switch with the chrome detailing?? They are going for less than $30 on eBay and Oriental Parts.
