Cheers man - I was gonna nip out to bunnings later to see what they had. The lip will be here on Friday, then it's off to the paint shop and then onto my car for GAD

You could start off by claying your car yourself, that's easy to do and could give some improvement. If you just care about gloss even a polish (without cutting) can give you a nice result; check this A4; only (heavy) polishing pads were used.Originally posted by nightphotographer View PostColour coded rear bumper is now done - looks like I need a massive detail to get the rest of the paint back to the original colour! Any tips would be appreciated, so far thinking just a mega cut and polish with a machine buffer - any other tips to getting the paint back to showroom condition would be awesome.
Now here's the annoying part, I've got my 9N Side Skirts painted too - they fit fine and look really cool, but I need some help choosing what adhesive to use to fit best. Whatever was used from factory to hold the originals in was REALLY good - how can I get some that good? Is it worth paying VW to do it - should only take an hour, I don't mind if I get a great fit that's going to last. Here's a test fit:
If you actually want to get rid of swirls or small scratches... than you're in for a treat, i have to use wool pads to correct our VW cars, the hardest cutting pad wasn't enough.
Just buy the adhesive from VW no need to pay them for fitting.

Went a little quiet for a while on the lead up to GAD - partly because I was on holidays and busy working on the car, but also because I wanted to save pictures until the car was fitted out!
So new parts are:
Viezu Stage 1 Tune - no idea of KW output, but it's a lot faster than stock obviously.
ECS Stage 1 Clutch and 14lb flywheel
Forge TIP, DV008 and TB>IC Hose
9N3 Bluemotion Lip (would love to know if this is the first in Aus - anyone who has one or knows of one please let me know!)
9N Side Skirts (not sure on the name of the style, but they're a few mm lower than the stock GTI ones and are colour coded)
Colour coded rear bumper.
KW's wound all the way down on the rear, maybe 20mm more to go on the front, to protect the front lip mainly.
Wheels pictured - Audi A8 Winter Wheels (mono blocks) 17x7.5 ET40 on 205/40/17 15mm adapters on the front and 25mm on the rear.

Will get an awesome front on shot of the new lip - it completely changes the look of the car (on white anyways)Last edited by nightphotographer; 24-09-2012, 05:14 PM.2019 132TSI Tiguan

Haven't had chance to upload any new shots or details because I'm still waiting for the internet to be connected at my new place. However I've found a recent shot of my car on here I'm going to steal and post
Still needs to be lower - will be on 16's again shortly (more new wheels!) so that should help out a fair bit
Wheels pictured are Porsche Cayennes 17x7.5 ET53 with 25mm adapters all round. 195/40's too. Static shots will follow when I've got the internetz.Last edited by nightphotographer; 29-11-2012, 02:39 PM.2019 132TSI Tiguan

Brembo 312mm brake set up with HEL lines (ignore the faded clear coat thanks to leaking brake fluid, soon to be refurbed!)

Genuine SEAT Sport strut brace - not as great a fit as I thought, had one on my MK1 Fabia VRS that fitted perfectly...

Dad's over from the UK helping with whole new bush set up - new front and rear wishbone/control arm bushes. Got VW to just do the pressing because we were failing with a hack saw - $250 - just to press out and press in the new bushes. Never. Ever, going to VWA for anything ever again.2019 132TSI Tiguan

It fit's perfectly fine as it's from the same chasis - it's just a tighter fit than it was on my last car that also shared the same chasis. It rubs on the rubber seal - that's all.Originally posted by rgvlee View PostWhat was wrong with the SEAT brace fit? Looks like you can still get to the air box as well.2019 132TSI Tiguan
