  • Forge 008 Diverter - Interest in group buy?

I'm interested in the new Forge diverter, the 008. Can be viewed here

I've had a few conversations and am comfortable that we should be able to get these to your door for $180 or less, assuming we can get the numbers.

If you are intersted, express it here...

I'd be interested. Do you know if the old spring kit works with this one?

Good q... No i don't, but as the chamber is a different size, I think they may be too big.

I'll find out, also see whats included with the stock one... Prob get the spring kits built into the pricing if they are a separate item.

This replaces the stock Bosch item? will it work in a 06 Polo GTI?

Do these need to be rebuilt every so often?

How many people are required to be in and what sort of delivery time are we looking at?

        possibly interested...

Works for all Polo 9N3 GTI's (so all our 1.8T's)

I think they need some basic lube or something, but not often. I have the splitter, it's worked well since day 1 (1.5 years ago). For those with the 007 version, I've not really heard many / any complaints, but some of those users will likely want the new toy (like I do).

I'm after 10 for the group, but we can probably adjust the pricing based on quantity. I'll post in other sections if we seem to be taking off, if I get a lot of interest I'll look to pass this onto a local supplier so there is a support model. Timing, depends on how quickly interest grows. Being realistic, its going to be a month by the time we get numbers, cash, then shipped to Aus, then to your door.

Cant find any reviews from people going from the 007 to the 008. Not sure i can justify $200 for not that much of a difference. Having said that if a group buy goes ahead i cant be left behind now can i haha.

In there says 3 springs are included? Its also $166 and says free worldwide shipping?

            Edit 2: From here:

"Got me a Forge 008 Dv today. Drove with it on maybe 8kms so far. noticeable differences is that it tends to hold boost for longer than the 007 maybe 500rpm more (i will drive the car more and update), releases much quicker (faster reaction time is very nice!!) and dumps about +/- 30% louder than the 007 with a mix of a sequential sound (mainly lower down) sometimes and a whip crack as stated earlier.

Very cool product, definetly worth getting over the 007 in my opinion.

PS cool packaging and the keyring is awesome"

            and

"drove the car a bit yesterday with the new DV and i love it. DV reacts much quicker than the 007, makes a decent sound and holds boost for longer up top than my 007 did.

I wouldnt say the 007 is an inferior product compared to the 008 but the 008 is a nice/better upgrade to getting the 007.

No regrets and no problems with the 008, awesome suff worth the money spent"

Awesome find on the reviews and pricing! In reality, I don't think I'm going to be able to get it any cheaper than that...

Think I'll just go with that...

I shot that ttstuff.com site an email anyway to see if they could do any better with a group buy.

What advantages over does this have over the APR R1 DV ?

So far I can see that the Forge item needs to be serviced .... which is a pain .... but anything of merit to make the switch ?

Also, I picked my R1 up from the states for much cheaper than you are proposing for this - approx $150 shipped

ttstuff.com cant do it any cheaper for multiple units but the free worldwide shipping thing is good enough already.

I suppose individual orders would make more sense then if we arent paying for shipping.

Its a good price. With ECS selling them at 185 then around $40 postage, this is much cheaper and does not require too much coordination.

I'm going to jump on that one, feel free to wait for my trial...

If you diverter could be doing a better job, it may be robbing you of boost, etc.
Whilst I have an understanding of how they work, I can't comment on comaring them, but I've heard members talk about holding higher boost after using a different spring with the 007. As for servicing, I've not had mine stick, but think a little lube every 50,000 kms or 2 years cant hurt. As for the price, this is only 15% more and much newer. I'm not saying yours is bad, but I have heard of people returning the R1 for not holding boost and making a farting sort of sound. Personally, never tried it and it may be superior to any Forge design for all I know...

Another option is the GFB dv.. I have that on my car and it suits my polo much better than the 007 dv..

Can you elaborate on the difference? what springs / shims were you using in the 007?

my diverter came up with errors of low pressure on the tune
                              "loosing pressure"
hoping this may be a fix! are they quiet??
