  • Forge TIP

Well i installed one of the Forge Turbo Inlet pipes i have. Boy what a job that is. I must say that it feels great. Once again im not going to make any great claims about it but it feels like it spools earlier and feels stronger through the mid and high end of the rev range.

Now to get a new airfilter..................

Who else has one and what do they think??

I recently installed one and then got a dyno - no difference in power (despite what Forge claim on their site). There are subtle differences such as improved spooling and slightly improved mid-to-top end, sure.

yeah i would say its def worth while. I am not sure if the polo suffers from the hose flex like the audi S3 does but cam only help anyway.

I bought the half and half version.

Intake top pipe made by samco and the modified stock polo turbo inlet pipe.

This gives a very noticeable difference in the 4000+ range. There is a little less spooling as well.

Apparently the rubber ones still have the potential to collapse at high rpms? So i heard...

Spool time is alot less ....

Less turbo lag if you want to put it that way.

                Forge TIP

I have had the TIP on since before i got the tune,

Must say that it did make a noticeable difference over standard turbo inlet.

More noise, faster spool up, turbo whistle doesnt die off anymore like it used to after like 3 thousand rpm (thats gota be good?)
                better response and better power

So the question has to be ... who can fit one for me? (As a mechanic ... I make a good writer.)

I doubt it, the rubber is heavily reinforced to prevent that from happening.

I've got one. I notice really small changes, mostly what you guys have said, but I'm not surprised to hear that on a Dyno there isn't any change. However it's meant to make a bigger difference to cars that are chipped, think I remember reading that from the Forge website.

It's meant to make an improvement to both chipped and unchipped. Forge's site relies on a fair bit of hype bc, well, they're trying to sell them It seems there's mixed reviews on the benefits too. IMO, if I had my time again, I wouldn't bother. In my experience, ppl are better off upgrading the air filter (that's the real choker) rather than the TIP.

Ive got one as well. It seemed to me that it allowed the car to rev out a lot quicker. Cant really comment if it improved power or not.

Ive now replaced the stock intake with a BMC CDA system. From intial reports it has definitely smoothed out the power/torque curve. The once noticeable surge from about 2500rpm has disappeared and been replaced with a more linear feeling of power delivery. Haha I actually kinda miss the turbo lag.

yep, also frees up the turbo so it can rev into red line (unlike stock intake). ..you can also hold it at 6000rpm and it won't bother it a bit. totally tranforms the rev-range dynamics. however, that "linear" feeling doesn't suit everyone, and there's intake upgrade cynics out there who just aren't convinced of the benefits (or who see them as tangible anyway, not naming anyone : ) ...best person to comment is Kai (has trialled BMC CDA, Pod and stock choker). can't comment on Seat intake, maybe others can?
