Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      There is no harm in trying. and you pay the one fee so why not.

        Great to see someone's on to the case.

        I think what Kai was alluding to is that a dyno might not be the best way to measure the effect of this mod. I hesitate to comment ANY further but there are factors like heat soak and low airflows that may mean a dyno shows little. But, like everyone, I await the results..!

          i know what he ment mate, but the decision is entirely up to Al, I am going to get vagcom and use it on eddys car, in both chipped and stock mode and then add the seat air intake and the forge tip on it. SO with what Al gets in the way of info and eddy and i we will get a good idea.

          Edit - if the dyno operator is like mine and they arent busy Al should go for a drive when he puts it on to see if the ecu will lean at all and also to cool everything down

                  I couldn't agree more. Dyno is not a valid measure for intake mods (as I've discovered), Vag com makes much more sense. You need proper air flow and normal outside ambient temps to get a valid measure.

                        Yes but like i said whats the harm if it doesnt cost you any extra, he is also doing the tests on his manumetre and eddy and i will do vagcom.

                          why are we bothering? VW now use a combo of blowers and turbos now. why don't we organise a group buy for super chargers from VW
