And one more question, what other changes are needed to install the 3'' maf when everything else around it is stock?

The 3 inch one isn't an uprated one. They are standard on the 8L S3 and TT etc. The std Polo or KO3 turbo'd engines don't need a bigger MAF as they do not have enough volume of air going through them, to need the larger MAFs increased capability to measure.

If you fit a K04 for example, then to get the most power you would need to use bigger injectors, MAF, Fuel pump and FPR. These would basically bring your engine up to 8L S3 specs. It would produce around 270hp if you had a better downpipe and exhaust.

awesome work in reviving this thread - what a gem.

I think this may be the thread being referred to about cutting away the restriction in the intake:

Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII
        Daily: 2010 VW Jetta Highline
Gone but not forgotten: 08 Polo GTI
** All information I provide is probably incorrect until validated by someone else **

It would be nice modify the MAF housing; remove the grill on the back end (turbo end) and replace the grill on the inlet end with something that would breathe a little better...

Can it be that hard? I've read about someone do this but not for a Pog.
